Cherokee Ballard responds, "the person who wrote those emails is not a pathologist."  4.30.10                                    *Editor's Note: So Chief Administrative Officer Tom Jordan gets paid $90,000.00/year to "run" the Office, but we pay Cherokee Ballard $70,00.00/year to inform us that his word is meaningless because he's not a doctor. That's $160,000.00/year of tax dollars wasted running devastated families around in circles.

NEWS 9  Turner family says they will sue ME's Office after Chai Choi's "review" of case leads to no changes.                        *Editor's Note: Dr. Choi had indicated she could not read Dr. Trant's autopsy diagram abbreviations. This caused the family to fear she could not provide an accurate review. Their fears were prophetic, as the "revised" Report of Investigation (released in May 2010 in response to an Open Records Request) is a staggering visual example of incompetence- it is fraught with error, from checking "heavy truck" in a home death to, among other mistakes, getting both Chanda's date of birth and date of death wrong. The report is unsigned but lists Dr. Goddard as having prepared it March 2010. Goddard has not been employed by the ME's Office in roughly seven (7) years. (See June 10th newscasts above)

Leftwich had previously worked as a secretary at the ME's Office.

NEWS 9  Lawmakers make surprise inspection of ME's Office  2.16.2010                                                                         *Editor's Note: Randy Terrill led the inspection.  As of June 2010, Terrill was under criminal investigation for creating an $80,000/year admin "favor" job for a former ME secretary.  Terrill's "inspection" was only six weeks after the media raised body stacking and cross-contamination concerns, which a THIRD admin job would do nothing to solve.  We were already paying ex-cop Tom Jordan $90,000.00/yr as "Chief Administrative Officer", and Cherokee Ballard $70,000.00/yr to be the "ME Spokesperson."  Add in the $80,000.00/year favor position, and that's almost a quarter of a million dollars annually of taxpayer money for a medical facility that says it's underfunded and doesn't have enough doctors, space, or equipment to perform its job properly.
